Redcat Gen8 Scout II Wheel Extensions
Description
These parts are meant to widen the wheelbase of the Redcat Gen8 chassis. This reduces the tendency to roll and also increases the space between the steering link and the tires. By default, the links rub on the front tires unless you screw the link to the bottom position. You can choose between 1, 2 and 3mm spacers for the 12mm wheel hex hub nuts. The stock aluminium hex hub nut is 5mm thick, so you can achieve 6, 7 and 8mm of total thickness. I recommend also printing the wheel hub extensions, so that the wheels will not only hold onto the edge of the stock 12mm aluminium hex hub nut and instead cover the full surface area. They need to be glued onto the wheels. You can also glue the spacers to the original wheel hex hub nuts for extra strength. You can choose between 5, 4 or 3mm extensions corresponsing to the 3, 2 and 1mm spacers. Using the 1 and 2mm spacers with 5mm extensions will result in the wheel hub extensions rubbing on the portal axle housings and the wheels won't go fully onto the axles. 3mm spacers -> 3, 4 or 5mm extensions 2mm spacers -> 3 or 4mm extensions 1mm spacers -> 3mm extensions When using the spacers, the stock wheel nut covers won't fit on the axles anymore, unless you replace the stock axles with longer ones.
