COVID PPE Face Shield
Description
This is a PPE Face Shield for COVID Response. I designed this one to use common office supplies so that the medical professionals can use it if "all else fails." The Shield itself is a standard transparency film. To prepare the film for attachment to the printed parts, just 3 hole punch it with a standard size 3 hole punch (US) on both long ends. To attach the film, align the center hole first and work your way to the corners. On the head band portion, attach the retainer clip after inserting the film using the same center-out method. It should snap in place. Based on the geometry, the retainer will not come off without force and therefore will remain in place during normal operation. The Male piece is to ensure curvature of the thin film at the bottom. Follow the same procedure when inserting the film and retainer clip. The headband can be secured to the head with anything elastic: Ribber band, chain of hair ties, etc. The Shield is designed to have the top covered (in case medical staff bend over) and allows a gap for PPE eyewear and masks. This has been evaluated at hospitals and has incorporated their feedback. Support: Touching Buildplate only I've managed to get this out in 3.5 hours with a .8mm nozzle and a layer height of .2mm Print 1 PPE_Headband Mk7 -Rotate so that it lays flat with front cavity facing up Print 1 Bottom Piece_Male -Rotate to lay flat on its side Print 2 Retainer Piece -Rotate to lay flat on it's side
