raspberry pi outdoor webcam
Description
this is a case for a raspberry pi zero w and a raspberry pi camera v2.1. i use it for my outdoor webcam that automatically shoots images and uploads them to the internet periodically. the design is splash-proof, therefore i can leave it outside in the rain. in order to make it water-resistant i glued a transparent plastic window with a diameter of 35 mm to the top cover piece. instructions: - glue window to topcover - glue innercase to topcarrier - glue three m3 bolts into the bottomcarrier - use waterproof double sided adhesive to attach the bottomcarrier to a flat surface - place the raspberry pi zero and the camera into the innercase - place the topcarrier - innercase assembly onto the bottomcarrier and fasten it with m3 nuts. if the camera is not level, place washers under the topcarrier. - connect the micro usb cable to the raspberry pi. - place the topcover over the innercase and secure it with short m3 bolts. - run your favorite webcam software or program something yourself. some more info can be found here: http://www.muellerr.ch/raspberry-pi-webcam/ update may 8th 2020: during longer rain periods i had a lot of problems with water vapor inside the case. this caused the window to fog up often. i now made new versions (v3) of the innercase and the topcover with slots for better ventilation.
