open rc silicon caulk tire mold

open rc silicon caulk tire mold

Description

hi This is a tire mold that you can cast more grippy tires for the open RC f1 car. I noticed that with the normal tpu tires they just do not have enough grip to accelerate the car at any reasonable amount of time. So I tried wrapping rubber bands around the tires but that did not work because they would just slip off and I would have to rewrap the tires every 5 minutes and that got old really quick. then I tried to hot glue the bands on, they stayed on for a while but after a few minutes the bands just snapped and then they were pretty much useless. then after that, I looked for some purpose-built RC car tires, but they were just too expensive and also I am in quartine so all of the shipping times for items were just too long and I knew that I could git silicone caulking from my local home depot and I have a 3dprinter so might as well make some tires from the materials I have access to. what you need: GE silicone caulk 2x 80mmx#8 threaded rod 2x #8 cap nut 2x #8 hex nut canola/olive oil spray caulking gun any super glue spray the molds with the cooking oil (don't be afraid to overspray). screw the 2 halves of the mold together. inject the mold with the caulking (keep going until you see the silicone coming out the second hole. let the silicon cure for about 2 days inside the mold. after that let the tire dry for another day outside of the mold. you are done super glue the tire on the rim and make 3 more and you are done.
