N95 like respirator (uses T-Shirts for filter media)
Description
A special Thanks to SPC Adam Gross for the inspiration for this mask. SGT Gross approached me with this project in an effort to use my 3D printer to produce a well fitting respirator that could use common materials for the filter media. In this case we designed the filter to use 8 layers of cotton T-shirt material. We base this choice off of an article from the CDC about improvised masks. Per the article you should criss cross the material stack to alternate the direction of the weave between each stack. We use para cord for the straps. All parts can be printed in a hard material but I recommend printing the face piece in a TPU or TPE so its a little more flexible. Please note the model can produce a usable print with out supports but yields a cleaner print with minimal supports. Thank you all for viewing this project I hope this proves useful to all of you during these uncertain times. Good luck and stay safe. Sincerely, CPT Henson 1209th MCAS
