Exhaust Vent Filter Holder for 3M 6000 Series Masks – Uses standard P100 filters
Description
Update 8/23/2020 The model for the labeled version of the filter holder is now available. I had previously uploaded the wrong file. Update 6/2/2020 I’ve added as second version of the Filter Holder stl with a label with states, “Filters Exhaled Air.” Update 5/10/2020 I’ve updated the Filter Holder stl. In the update, I changed the tolerance and made a minor cosmetic alteration. I’ve successfully test printed using a 0.2mm and a 0.1mm layer height. Each test print used a 20% infill. In both test prints, the two pieces fit together nicely without the need for sanding. This filter holder is designed to filter exhaled exhaust air from 3M 6000 series respirators. I made this design so that I could use my 3M respirator to meet my local face covering requirements which specify that “any mask that incorporates a one-way valve (typically a raised plastic cylinder about the size of a quarter on the front or side of the mask) that is designed to facilitate easy exhaling is not a Face Covering under this Order and is not to be used to comply with this Order’s requirements. Valves of that type permit droplet release from the mask, putting others nearby at risk.” This filter holder fits 3M 6100, 6200, and 6300 models. It uses the same P95/P100 filters normally used on the mask. To improve air flow when using this filter holder, the back of the filter may be cut off as shown in the photo. Please see the video for instructions on how to assemble the two parts. https://youtu.be/e4XQ1Q5cxRU Note: The filter holder will not latch correctly upside-down.
