3018 PRO Almost Screw-less End-Stops
Description
These are some simple end-stops I made my new 3018 Pro CNC machine. It's setup to use these for the homing function with soft stops enabled. My goal was to build these without making any modifications to the machine. They use these, or similar, micro limit switches: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VX6D83M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The limit switches just snap into the holders. There are raised nubs in the printed parts that match the screw holes on the limit switches and hold secure enough to work. It's easier to fit the switches in the holders if the holders are installed on the machine. Installation: X-Stop: Slip the hole over the end nut and then clip the holder over the frame. It can be mirror printed to fit the opposite side. Y-Stop: The T-nuts I ordered were taking too long to ship so I made these instead. Insert into the t-slot and then twist 90 degrees to lock. Move the holder until you get the desired stop and then tap in the pin to hold it tighter. I added some board stops, if needed, to activate the stop. It takes a 3mm x10 screw and nut, but a longer screw might be needed to set the nut into the board stop. There's also two different stops. One is a little bit wider to fit under the aluminum plate. The narrow one will fit under a wider waste board. This can also be mirror printed. Z-Stop: The base part just clips onto the stepper motor's spacers and the holder is adjusted with an M3 screw and nut.
