Spiral Melting Vase
Description
Do Not use Vase Mode. Update 5/19/20: Added a V2 model. Some people reported they were having issues with the bottom layer not sitting flat on the bed. I increased the bottom layer by 5 mm to make more of the bottom sit flat on the bed. This vase was one of my more challenging vases to create. The waves in the sides had to be created with layer shifts right and left the entire height of the vase. The effect had to be created every 10 mm to achieve the look. Dimensions at 100%: 151 mm wide X 243 mm tall with 8 mm walls. At first I thought of it as a wave. Once it was complete it reminds me more of the handmade pealed/sculpted candles that contain multiple colors. So I think of it more of a Melting Vase. You can use your favorite filament and settings can be adjusted to your favorite settings for vases. Additional Notes: In its original form it is intended as a vase. However, if you resize it to a smaller version of itself it makes a really cool looking cup or pencil holder. If anyone is interested in using it as a flower or bonsai pot let me know and I will do a V2 and put a hole in the bottom. That way when you squish it down to pot sizes it will already have the drain hole. I did find that if you squish it to the size of 285x285x87 that the angles become sharp enough that you will need supports. Thanks for checking out my creations.
