Mini Screwdriver Shelf
Description
I was inspired by a Design I saw online for a mini shelf. Unfortunately that design had very small holes and did not fit my recently found mini screwdrivers (hex). Turns out I had exactly the right Hex screwdrivers back from my days playing with RC Helicopters and such - They were 3/4 sizes I required for the Creality Ender 3 printer. 1.5 / 2.0 / 2.5 / 3.0 mm hex. The only one missing was the 4.0 used for frame assembly, and that allen wrench is with my printer accessories (and not likely needed often) so I set out and designed this wall-mounted holder in Fusion 360. It is not a perfect design as I tried to get a very light, back skin on the shelf under the "label plate" . The label plat is a VERY tight fit and sometimes, depending on the amount of "Elephants foot effect" I had to trim off the little lock in tabs to make it fit. I was trying for a very tight fit. The best part of this print is the clearly legible text using 2 colors of filament. - Welcome to the M600 command. Most printers support this command out of the box - as it turns out my Ender 3 SKR v1.3 motherboard firmware did not. it was old, and it was my 1st ever attempt at compiling firmware, and I knew nothing about M600- I left the option turned off. I just updated my Firmware by downloading the latest Marlin 2.0.x bugfix and flashing my SKR v1.3 board w/2208's in UART mode. (Special thanks to @ Whiskerz007) for helping me a great amount with this. When you slice the nameplate, print is separately from the shelf. Prusa Slicer (current version) and Cura 4.6.x both support the M600 command. if you need help, Chep over at Filament Friday has a great video on this with Cura (latest version). Again, the fitment of the nameplate holds itself in without glue- and that is what I was going for. Be patient and squeeze it in place- I think it's worth the fight! I hope you enjoy this Thing! Happy plastic melting.
