Phone holder motorcycle handlebar mount
Description
I wanted a new phone mount for my motorcycle handlebar (a Ducati Scrambler Hashtag). Most commercial products that were not too big or too flashy on the handlebar (e.g. Ram Mounts) required a specific phone case to be used (e.g. QuadLock or Sp Connect, I already have a case that I like). My phone is starting to get a little bit old so I don't know when I'll change it so I wanted a mount that could fit a variety of phones, my current one and my next one. I bought that: https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B07NR5W3LW It looked promising with a flat plate and 4 thick ruber bands that tightly grab each corner of the phone and then mount on a socket fixed on the handlebar. The plate can easily be detached and rotated. The plus side is that the plate is small enough to fit my very small storage under the seat of my bike, leaving only the discret socket on the handlebar. However the socket mount for the handlebar did not looked as strong as I wish it should be. Thus I decided to create a sturdier mount that would fit perfectly my handlebar and fit the socket on it. This piece is designed to fit my Ducati Scrambler handlebar center piece on one side. And have be the negative of the back of the plastic mold from the socket, so it can be glued in. The piece has two 5mm wide holes from on side to the other to pass cable ties (I used 4.8mm wide ones) to secure it to the handlebar. I used it for a couple of weeks without any issues from city speed to highway speed. Edit: I'm using for 3 months now and no cracking or signs of weakness is seen on the print or on the glue joint between the two pieces. I'm loving how easy to use and small it is!
