Sliding latch

Sliding latch

Description

I built an Ikea Lack-based enclosure for my Prusa MK2S a while back, and I've been iterating on methods for closing the front of it, all locking a piece of acrylic in place. After using a couple variations on sliding the acrylic in vertically, I decided to make this sliding latch to makes things less awkward. Geometry of this latch is designed for my enslosure, so you may have to adapt for yours (or whatever else you want to use this thing for) and to that end I've included the Fusion360 part. Motion of the part is..OK..but imperfect in that model. Rest assured: with an assist from gravity, the latch opens and closes correctly. I'm happy with how it works, let me know how it works for you! NOTE: 6x M3x14mm screws and accompanying nuts required for assembly, and I used 4x #6 wood screws to attach to the top of my enclosure.
