PCB Steel Rod Holder X-Carriage Unit for DIY Permanent Marker Circuit Board Production and Etching
Description
- Upgraded bearing size, roller chamber and rod size dimensions. - Zero/minimal clearance internals for maximum accuracy. - Clamps redesigned to improve rod stability and to prevent binding. - Inner and Outer Spacers added! - Flange body mount retained as accessory or mounting option for Horizontal X-Axis Carriage. - Compact body option added without flange to reduce material inputs! - Design modified to improve printing outcomes, safety, production cost and adaptability. - There will be some gap between the mounting and front body when assembled. **Compatibility:** - Prusa i3 4 Bolt X-Carriage (Wilson TS and other RepRap derivatives) - Prusa i3 Vanilla 3 Bolt X-Carriage (Wilson TS and other RepRap derivatives). Note that only two bolts will likely connect for this release. Second mount file after it's been prototyped! - Other machines with flange body, modification and or mounting adapter. **BOM:** *Printed Parts:* - (1) PCB Holder Body - (1) PCB Holder Front Body - (2) PCB Holder Clamps - (4) PCB Outer Spacers - (2) PCB Inner Spacers *Hardware:* - (4) 625 roller bearings - (1) 8mm (dia) x 125-150mm steel rod that is very very sharp at one end - (1+) Very healthy rubber band - (?) Hardware unknown: M3 and M5 bolts, washers and compatible nuts hold it together! -- (4) M5x35mm Hex Cap Machine Screws/Bolts and Nuts -- (4) M4x50-60mm Machine Screws/Bolts and Nuts -- (2) M3x8mm Machine Screws/Bolts -- (8+) 8mm I.D. Washers/Precision Shims Estimated print time for all components (flange mount body) is 2hrs 51min, 7.56m/65g at 25% infill. Less for the non-flanged. --- Props to the original Norwegian designer Arvid M. who created this for the K8200! It was initially somewhat difficult to sort out specifically how he put it together, but it's a brilliant, simple and functional design! For his 'instructions', details, design inspiration and FreePCB instructions please see his original post here: http://www.lamja.com/?p=635 and associated YouTube videos. *Be aware that I have modified the design to take larger bearings and potentially a larger rod than the original source files* **REMIXED FROM (direct download link):** http://www.lamja.com/blogfiles/3D_Printer_PCB_maker_steel_rod_holder_for_K8200_all.stl
