Anycubic Mega S Fan Duct
Description
### Idea After I've printed my first fan duct https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4168105 I have noticed some problems, so I designed my own. (I measured it just to get the rough dimension and started from scratch.) ______________________________________________________________________ ### Problem 1: The first annoying thing was the assembly. (same problem with the most other fan ducts) The standard fan comes with two little tubes, acting as spacers, to assure there is a gap between the fan an the housing. To mount the fan/fan duct that way, without removing any other parts, is really fiddly and annoying. So I designed a holder for the fan, so you wont need the spacers anymore. The assembly is much easier, and the fan/fan duct is further supported. My "spacer" has the same width as the standard one and wont block anything important of the fan, so there is no disadvantage. ### Problem 2: The second problem i encountered was the gap between the fan duct and the bed clamps. In my opinion the fan duct was just too low to safely print the first layers without watching it. So I raised the bottom a little bit. ### Problem 3: The holes to mount the fan duct were too weak, so they broke and didn't hold that good anymore. I reinforced them with a little tube like shape and a radius. I also widen the piece a little bit. _____________________________________________________________________ ### General shape The shape of the ring and the connection between it and the fan I designed from scratch. It looks very clean and is strong. The only critical point are the two long fan mounts, dont bend them too much or they will break because of the layer orientation. But that will not be a problem during mounting. I will try to improve it in the future. I designed the holes on the bottom so the air ideally flows just under the nozzle and will cool mostly the print and not the nozzle. #### You can use this with any fan with the same dimensions as the standard one (45x45x10,4). You can also use the stock fan screws, and you won't need the spacers anymore. ______________________________________________________________________ This is the third version I printed and it works very well, but if something isn't working out, just let me know and I will try to improve it. ______________________________________________________________________ If you like it please post a make/comment. ### EDIT: - added a V2, with slightly edited "air holes", but I haven't tried it out yet
