DeWALT 18 volt to Bauer 20v Lithium - no monitor
Description
**update** 6-2-20 changed file for one in correct print orientation. Happy Printing! This is a remix of the DeWALT adapter to use a Bauer 20v Lithium Battery on a DeWalt 18v XRP drill. I am sure this adapter will work for other DeWALT 18v cordless tools, but I only have the drill. Check out the original THING for the rest of this adapter. This remake is just of the bottom plate where the 20V battery snaps in. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1270617 **USE AT YOUR OWN RISK** - Lithium batteries require special care to ensure they work properly and don't get drained too far. Bauer batteries have a charge-level indicator built into the battery. I ALWAYS charge the battery when the indicator drops to 1 LED on the charge indicator (regardless of tool). Many tools designed for lithium batteries have a built-in shut-down when the battery gets discharged too much. Using a Lithium battery on a tool it was not intended to be used on means you will not have this fail-safe. Monitor the battery yourself, recharge BEFORE absolutely required. Also, I use a Bauer charging station. Even if this fits in a DeWALT charging station, it would be foolish to charge it that way. The charging stations for lithium batteries are designed to communicate with and safely charge the battery type they were built for, not other brands/types.
