Anet A2 Y Axis Stabilization
Description
Got tired of my Y axis flopping around and saw other printers with smooth rails on either side. Have to make sure the pillow blocks are aligned dang near perfect otherwise it'll shimmy side to side. I used the knockoff drylin LM8UU bearings and they are just slightly larger than normal bearings so you may need to customize your own pillow block. Used 340mm 8mm smooth rod but I have the 220x280 bed so you may need to shorten your rods. Had to hammer in the bearings into the pillow blocks and file the pillow blocks down until the bearing were properly preloaded. I would assume this design would work on most printers with this format but obviously haven't tried. It works GREAT, better than I had anticipated actually and is pretty rock solid!! Sorry about my scad file and lack of parameterization, still learning this stuff and had this idea at the drop of a hat.. I can now reliably do full bed prints, here is a vid of it working! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJvZXR3uGE0
