Titan Air Manifold Print Cooler
Description
I originally uploaded this a few weeks ago, but deleted it after seeing some type of problem with the thingiverse web page for it that I could not resolve, so I deleted it and uploaded it as this design. I made this for an E3D Titan Extruder mounted to a Maker Farm i3v 10" printer using an E3D V6 Hotend and a radial 5015 fan. It will probably work with other titan mounts where the extruder is on the side. If you have the extruder on opposite side that I have, you will need to mirror the design. There is 6mm height adjustment to fine tune the distance. Fusion 360 source file **Titan_841_AirManifold_V8_14.f3d** is included if you want to adjust the model to your situation. I added a **Shim_2mm.stl** & **Shim_3mm.stl** to help you get the height a little above the bed. To adjust the height of it, loosen the 3 - M3 screws attached to the titan extruder enough to wiggle the mount up & down. After leveling the bed, I set the Hotend touching the bed in the center & used the 2mm shim to set the height. I printed the final version, **Titan_841_AirManifold_V8.stl** of this using zyltech PETG with 4 perimeters, 30% infill adaptive with Prusa Slicer. This design started out to be a partial torus design and morphed into this design. I used https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2162427 as a guide for the hole mounting & https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3167063 for the test print. I used https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wun9EuVTV0w&t=706s to show me how to do the simulation. I thought this design looked like an exhaust manifold. I included an image of the test print. The 3d manifold paths I drew in Draftsight (AutoCAD clone) which I found to be a lot easier than drawing them in fusion 360. I made a couple of changes to the Marlin 2.0.5.3 firmware to keep the Thermal Runaway error from occurring while the fan was running since the temperature drops a little when it first comes on. The **ADAPTIVE_FAN_SLOWING** really helps. I did a PID autotune after putting the new cooler in place, but without that fan running. **define THERMAL_PROTECTION_HYSTERESIS 8** //originally a value of 4 **define ADAPTIVE_FAN_SLOWING**
