Matta-West Inline PEEP valve
Description
Inline PEEP valve for use in shared ventilation to allow individualization of PEEP in each circuit. This has not been approved by FDA and medical societies. Use at your own risk and liability. Printing Part: Five parts are printed for the PEEP Valve Assembly. They include 1. Valve Body 2. Flapper Valve Plate 3. Adjustment Screw Plate 4. Cover 5. Knob Design of the parts was completed using SolidWorks 2020. Software used for the printing was PrusaSlicer 2.2.0. Printers were from Prusa, both i3 MK2 and i3 MK3’s. Parts where made out of PLA (Poly Lactic Acid) but could very well be made out of PETG (Poly Ethylene Terephthalate Glycol) or (PP) Polypropylene. Supports were only used in the printing of the vertical (input) passageway of the Valve Body. Doing so insured a flat surface for the mounting of the rubber flapper valve. Generating supports in PrusaSlicer generally produces supports for the complete model but with PrusaSlicer, using support blockers permits the programmer to adjust supports, and in this model, to just below the flat perforated mounting plate for the flapper valve. Print Settings were 5 top and 5 bottom horizontal shells, 3 vertical shells. Infill was 50%. Print time was typically just under 5 hours to print all the parts at the same time. Material cost (PLA) is about $1.06, so this PEEP valve assembly could very be considered disposable.
