Card Slot for CubieKid MP3 Player Box

Card Slot for CubieKid MP3 Player Box

Description

This is a modification for the Tonuino based CubieKid music box for kids. The original design can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3148200 The Tonouino project here: https://www.voss.earth/tonuino/ I added a slot on the top. Just make a small cutout (8.5mm x 75.5)on top of the CubieKid box and glue the slot from the bottom side to the wooden top case part. Glue the cover frame on the top side of the wooden top case part. Be careful and pay attention to the 3mm slot. The 3mm wooden cards should fit into the slot after gluing. The gap on the side of the bottom slot part can be used to attach a mechanical switch. Also use some hot glue here. The switch can be used to turn the whole device on/off when a card is in the slot. Make your own cards by using the card template. You need to cut out the outline and mill a pocket in the bottom center of the card. Have a look at the template svg file. I used 3mm plywood for the cards ( other materials should also work.) and 0.8 mm cardboard (finnpappe) for covering the milled pocket. Just remove the RFID NFC Tag from those blue key chain tags. You will find them on Amazon or eBay. You can also alternatively use RFID stickers instead of milling.
