FLSUN Horizontal Filament Spool Holder for QQ and QQ-S
Description
Finally a Filament Spool Holder for horizontal mounting of the spool. This way you do not unnecessarily increase the height of this already very high printer. Looks a lot more pleasing and a lot more decent. Consisting of 4 print parts adding some additional clamps for realigning the cable tree to the outside of the printer. You might want to print all needed parts first. Additionally print 4 to 8 of the cable clamps in any case before continuing. First detach the original holder and unscrew the cable tree plugs and at the top of the printer and completely take out the cable. Reconnect the cable outside the printer somewhere. Run the cable from the bottom to the top of one of the outside vertical arms and along the side of the top plate then a bit down (maybe 1/3rd of the way down) along one of the other arms. Use the printed clamps so that you form a -U- shaped slope upside-down. For doing this properly you might have to remove some of the plastic cable straps being attached to the cable tree and the filament pipe. Do not remove all of them but only the top ones. You might want to check the pictures for a bit of detail. After this you can use the top center hole for plugging in the printed pin. Simply clip in. Slide the big role over it. Clip in the small roles into the small holders on the downside of the filament plate.Try to spin them by hand a little so they get used to their new home. You can also use a bit of oil or grease to make them spin even more nicely. Then turn around the base plate and slide it over the big role with the little roles on the plate pointing down. Add your filament role and go print. You might want to rescale or reconstruct the top cylinder to match the diameter of your preferred filament roles. The supplied one matches many of the common filament spools however being especially designed for Redline Filament. However if you want to do this simply construct a cylinder with the desired diameter and height, then merge it on top of a cylinder matching the lower plate middle hole which is 55 mm in diameter and 8 mm high. Drill a (virtual) hole into the cylinder at the downside with 23.5 mm diameter and 32 mm height to match the connecting pin. Done. Enjoy!
