Raspberry Pi 3/4 MSata usb 3.0 adapter stand

Raspberry Pi 3/4 MSata usb 3.0 adapter stand

Description

With the recent support added for the Pi 4 for usb boot, I wanted a nice mount/stand to be able to hold a usb3.0 msata adaptor under the pi. This was designed to work with the cheap cnc aluminum cases, example is: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminum-CNC-Enclosure-Case-CPU-Metal-Shell-Suitable-for-Raspberry-Pi-4B-Tool/184123884098 The adaptor used has nfhk n-30u v2 marked on the board, example is: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1Pc-Mini-USB-3-0-to-PCIE-mSATA-External-SSD-PCBA-Conveter-Adapter-K-DOLTYPZ/193514517101 I noticed when testing that the msata adapter and the msata ssd seems to run pretty warm. So I highly recommend a heatsink for the bottom of the adapter and copper shim for top of the msata drive to keep it cool. For heatsinks I just used an old pi heatsink kit, putting the larger heatsinks on the bottom of the mstata adapter and some 20x20mmx2mm copper shims on top of the msata drive.. You have ~6mm space under the adapter and ~2mm above an msata ssd.
