Apollo Style Switch Guard, Infinitely Scalable
Description
For the cheap 6mm Switches Quick instruction ============= Print the Plate you need, make your own length if needed. Print the Bending Jig Bend something fitting into shape. Works for 2.85mm filament or anything similar sized like 6mm² and 10AWG wire Put together/possibly drill out holes to fit, glue, done There's no limit to the amount of Switches you can put into a row. You will just have to put them together, all files needed are supplied. I used MIcrosoft's 3D builder Due to the nature of FDM printing I decided to not print the guard rails, but to bend them out of PLA. I have some 2.85mm filament from another printer than I bent using the Bending Jig supplied in the files. The holes are a technically the right size but my calibration isn't 100% correct so i quickly drilled them out with a dremel tool. Glued the pieces in place and gave them a quick coat of Paint. The small switches fit perfectly, the hole in the Plate making sure they won't turn once inserted. I am a bit of a space lover, and the Apollo capsules had those Switch Guards I really like. I found a great model already, this one here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3514462. But I tend to use smaller Switches than the ones in that example so I made my own one.
