Chicago Electric Rotary Tool Battery Pak/Plug Converter
Description
This is a battery to wall plug adapter for the Chicago Electric 9.6v Cordless Rotary Tool from Harbor Freight. With the battery always dying mid project I want a way to plug the rotary tool into a wall socket when the battery died without having to buy another tool. So instead of ghetto hooking up wires to the connections I designed this plug pack. Now if the battery dies I can just pop in the plug pack and keep working with a corded plug instead of waiting hours for the battery to fully charge. Simply glue in some contact points, solder in some wires, and find a 9-9.6v plug you can use. For mine I soldered the wires to washers, then super glued them in place, and found a spare 9volt plug/charger I had laying around to use. This is still a work in progress and will be going through some changes after testing as I'm still in the progress of prototyping and mainly need to test how the locking clips will work out. For now Ive uploaded a base without clips just covers, the contact points on the tool provide enough pressure to hold the plug in not really ideal as the cord could pull it out, but works good for now.
