La Pavoni Pressure Relief Nut Wrench Adapter

La Pavoni Pressure Relief Nut Wrench Adapter

Description

While refurbishing my La Pavoni Millenium I needed a way to unscrew the nut inside the boiler for the pressure relief. The standard tool for this is expensive, but probably worthwhile. It's designed to fit the ring end of a ratcheting 15mm wrench. Mine was Pittsburg from HF. I'm sure better wrenches would be work even better. Slip the printed piece down through the fill hole, and support it from the group hole with a finger (with the group removed). Position it on the nut such that the "16mm" text is pointing down towards the heating element. Mine held in place by itself at this point. Insert the 15mm wrench down through the fill hole and position it on the 15mm protrusion. Firmly push outwards and hold this stationary while undoing the 16mm (safety cap?) nut on the outside, counterclockwise. I used the V2.1 version on mine, hoping to get better engagement with the ratchet teeth. I included a v2.2 in case a simple hex works better for others. There's also a sightglass nut straight extension, but I haven't tested it yet.
