Pet Water Fountain Filter Sleeve

I have HAGEN brand Cat-It 64 fl oz / 2L pet fountain (#50053) and it's a great product for providing my dog and cats clean water. Like most fountains, pet hair, dander and debris eventually makes its way to the pump intake and clogs it. This filter sleeve greatly improves the filtering ability by redirecting water across the filter material instead of gravity allowing unfiltered water to fall between the filter and wall of the fountain's basin. Recently the design of the standard carbon water filters appear to have changed to a different style with a fabric band stitched around it (see photo) - which tends to shrink the filter more than the original design does (which also shrinks). Pet hair and dander end up freely bypassing it, accumulate in the base, and clog up the impeller far more frequently, especially in a household with multiple pets. This removable 152mm press fit sleeve sits snugly over the filter and redirects return flow directly across and into the filter, keeping the water and pump clean for much, much longer. I designed this for the #50053 model - if your fountain is similar but a different diameter, measure the filter support diameter and scale this model to match and it should fit perfectly.
