2m or 70cm Ground Plane Antenna Bracket

2m or 70cm Ground Plane Antenna Bracket

Description

This is the bracket I used to make my 70 cm ground plane antenna, It could also be used to make a 2 meter ground plane. It uses 1in aluminum tubing, and 3mm nuts that are pushed into the base. Make sure that the screws threaded into both the nuts and the plastic at the same time. this allows the nuts to provide the clamping force on the ring terminals for the ground radials. and the bracket to just hold the antenna. Please use cable ties to attach your coax to to the tubing. hanging coax will cause problems over time, the dynamic load of a long coax could cause the fasteners in the plastic to wear. Also damage to your coax termination could happen also. The vertical element goes up through the hole in the center with silicone or some other sealant to keep out water. I used 10awg copper solid. the hole in the top is 3mm. the holes in the side are sized to use 5mm bolts but can be drilled out of coarse. the so-239 fittings I used are here https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DC1JYZL/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_axw-Eb4STZJVK 73
