Walls Standards Bottom Bracket (Container Store Elfa or other)
Description
I recently installed a custom-order closet system from Container Store - their "Elfa" system. I didn't love that the wall standards hang freely from the top rail without any sort of stabilization to keep them from sliding side-to-side or tilting slightly angled. After you link the wall standards with shelves, drawers, etc, plus fill them with items, they get a little heavier and don't move as much, but I have drawers that slide out 1/8" from the wall so if they shift at all (and they do!) they'll eventually be smacking into the wall scratching the shelves and the wall. I looked all over and couldn't find a simple bracketing system for wall standards so I made my own in Tinkercad. They will work with *any* wall standards that are 1" x 1". Note that these aren't designed to bear weight! These plastic brackets assume a rail or something else is holding them in place from a weight perspective, and this bracket just mounts to the bottom to hold them in place so they don't swing from side to side. The screw holes are tapered to assume a tapered screw head of standard size #6 x 1" long. If you're going into drywall without a stud, you'll want a plastic ribbed anchor of size #4 - 6 x 7/8".
