5 GHz Biquad Yagi Antenna (Wifi)
Description
Due to the small form Factor of a 5Ghz Biquad Yagi antenna, it might be useful to just wrap around wire instead of complicately bending. The idea is to wrap while tightening the edges with the edge tool. Then solder the loop closed Lastly tighten middle part with 2nd tool. This needs some improvement overall. I could get a 30% improvement in throughput compared to a standard 5dbi antenna. (My test was against 2 concrete walls. 70 mpbs standard antenna, 100 mbps with yagi=) This is less than I expected and mainly due to bad soldering and wrong diameter wire in my prototype. Ideal Conditions: use 1mm dia copper wire. TODO: Add feed for coax cable add outer ring to hold 1 Edge tool to each corner (6) and 2 middle tighteners. to keep all elements properly in place.
