TopsCNC Heavy NEMA23 Modified Files
Description
# THIS IS FOR THE HEAVY NEMA23 DESIGN These are a couple of the original parts that I modified as I was building the excellent TopsCNC Heavy NEMA23 router. As this is his 3rd iteration of his CNC router designs it appears there are some artifacts from previous versions. His design can be found here: https://createforcuriosity.com/en/design/9vPDR81o/details. On the two XAxis_Front_Top (really Z Axis carriage) I removed a couple of unneeded holes for nuts. On the XAxis_Rear_Top I also removed several unneeded holes and some of the overhang that was used as part of a previous motor mounting location. You will have to use my XtoY_Drag_Chain_Support_Modified with it though. I am also testing a redesigned X & Y axis nut holder that will allow for a SFU1204 ball screw nut. Initial prototype print looks good and I’m now printing the final version. As soon as I can confirm that it fits good, I’ll add it. UPDATE: Confirmed that it fits and is working good on the X Axis. Depending on the ballscrew you use, you should have a short 8mm section on one end that will interface with this bearing. On the other end you will likely have to cut off part of it leaving a 10mm section that will then go into the motor coupler. This is the same with the Y axis however it is a little different as seen in the two different holders. > I would like to sincerely thank Thomas for all of his work in creating this excellent DIY CNC Router. I’m building mine out as a 1500x1500 so I can cut a half sheet of plywood and so far I’m VERY impressed with the overall design.
