3DRC Jet Boat V2
Description
Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnGf0Iq5ZXE This project was created in partnership with Engineering Apparel; they make STEM themed clothing that actually looks stylish! Check out their new RC themed designs created exclusively for the release of this project here: https://engineering-apparel.com/electronics/rc/ This boat is a replacement for the first 3DRC Jet Boat, redesigned from the ground up using a completely different design ethos - this time the hull is completely sealed and uses a submerged motor and servo to mitigate any potential for leaks. Features: -Fully sealed hull -Super simple construction -Minimal extra hardware required -Completely submersible -Excellent fun to sail This boat is super simple to assemble and all of the parts are easy to print even without a heated bed so it would make a great first foray into the world of 3D printed RC vehicles without compromising on fun. Extras required: 4 self tapping screws (normally included with the servo) 4 M3x12mm bolts (3 for the jet, one for the hatch) 2 M2.5x6 bolts for mounting the motor Waterproof 2 part epoxy for gluing hull parts together Electronics: 5gr waterproof servo 1308 Brushless outrunner motor (I used this one https://hobbyking.com/en_us/multistar-viking-brushless-outrunner-drone-racing-motor-1308-4100kv-cw.html but anything the same size will work) Lipo pack (I used a 800mAh 2S pack) Receiver ESC I recommend disassembling the receiver and ESC and coating the PCBs in epoxy for waterproofing, they shouldn't ever get wet but just in case the hatch leaks it's a good precaution to take. A standard 5gr servo can be waterproofed by coating the outside in epoxy and installing on O-ring under the servo arm (see pictures)
