Mass Effect M8 Avenger Assault Rifle (Split Files)
Description
***UPDATE*** Thanks to MiZer1981 for his suggestion to combine 2 parts for better fit, I have removed Bottom Part 1 and Interior Part 1 and combined them into Bottom Part Redux. Should make the printing and gluing easier. ***UPDATE*** I reworked a few of the pieces because they weren't printing correctly. You'll need to re-download and print the new files. Print 10 of the Greeblies and 4 of the Greeblies2 objects. **I have not assembled this yet** **Print at your own risk** I'm in the process of printing this now, but it is a large file and will take some time. I can't guarantee that it will fit together without a lot of sanding. We shall see... OK, I've wanted a Mass Effect assault rifle for a while now, but couldn't find any decent ones on any of the STL sites, so i had to do it the hard way and make it on my own. I had ZERO experience with Blender, but I made 3d models 20 years ago with 3DS Max, so I thought, "It can't be THAT different." Well, I'm a bit rusty and Blender isn't the same as 3DS Max, but I did my best. My skills will improve with time. I downloaded the .OBJ file straight from the game and worked that as best I could, smoothing it and adding details. Everything should fit nicely together. I split the larger sections to fit on an Ender 3 bed and added some pins so they don't shift when gluing them together. I designed it to be 34 inches long once fully assembled. That's the length of the official, very expensive, Bioware licensed version, so I went with that. ***UPDATE*** Well, 34" is waaaay too big. After asking various prop makers who have made this out of foam and mdf it turns out a better size is between 29-30 inches. So scale these parts to ***85%*** in your slicer. Going to reprint with these settings and try again. Update to follow. I will update this more as I continue to print and tweak the prop. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to let me know.
