Aerobo (inspired by Aerobie Frisbee ring)
Description
The Aerobo flying disk is based on an Aerobie-inspired cross-section, as described in https://doi.org/10.1119/1.2342103 . The disk flies far and level at a variety of flight speeds in outdoor conditions, although gusts of wind can cause the disk to lift and fly over your target's head. The cross-section is defined by the .svg vector graphic file. The .scad file scales, translates, and rotationally extrudes this cross-section. You can modify the cross-section by editing the .svg file in Inkscape, or modify the ring dimensions parametrically by editing the .scad file. I strong recommend to print in TPU. While a PLA or ABS version of this could potentially be used for frisbee golf, the sharp rigid object could be dangerous for catching partners or neighbor's windows. For cosmetic reasons, consider turning on ironing and using "concentric" pattern for the top layers. A video of this disk in flight: https://photos.app.goo.gl/2ViGNYji3kVgYzTi6
