Hemera Adapter for Quick Tool Change with IR Sensor - VOLCANO ONLY - Creality CR-10 / Ender

Hemera Adapter for Quick Tool Change with IR Sensor - VOLCANO ONLY - Creality CR-10 / Ender

Description

Edit: The standard Version is only compatible with Volcano! I have uploaded an quick redesigned Version which should work with V6. That one is probably not compatible with Volcano and IR Sensor as the IR Sensor mount is shortened on that one. Also the normal (Volcano) Version is closer to the axis. After my own designed Hemera Mount started to wobble more and more over time I started to search for something new. Also i was not 100% happy about the IR Mounting. The Quick Tool Change tool by ProperPrinting instantly came the center of my interest. As I use the DC42 IR Sensor for Bed leveling I didn't found one that would make use of that easy without huge offsets. Also most of them didn't have an good position to tie the cables and Bowden to, so I heavily modified my old Mount. The Quick tool change is an extremely genius design it worked very good, but for me the offset from the X axis was a bit high. The distance to the X axis is working quite like an lever. So I came across the remix from butt3erbr0t which takes the Mounting mechanism 6mm closer to the X axis. This is a huge improvement and his design changes make the whole Quick Tool Change unbeatable in my opinion. I changed my design to fit his mounting mechanism and now its working like an dream. My Hemera Adapter works with both the original Quick Tool Change from PropperPrinting as well as the remix/version from butt3erbr0t. But I highly recommend to use the version from butt3erbr0t! Printing and Mouting ================= I recommend to printing all parts with PLA, as an softer plastic like PETG or ABS could make more wobbles. 1. Get the Lever (V2_Lever.stl) from the Original design: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3369444 2. Get bracket_release.stl and lock_release.stl from the improved mount and read his instructions!! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4116425 3. Print my Things 4. Assembly should be self explanatory 5. Mount IR Sensor IR Sensor Mounting ------------------------ For the IR Mounting capability I changed it to use an clamp rather than to screw into the plastic of long holes. This makes fine adjustments just so much easier, especially after remounting it a few times. To use it you should use an Nyloc (Nut with Nylon insert) and screw it like: Screw > IR Sensor > Nyloc (NOT COMPLETELY TIGHTENED, just enough space, so that the screw still can still easily be turned) > IR clamp. Bring it in an good height and turn the screws alternately slightly until the IR Sensor is held in place. The Nyloc prevents the IR Sensor to be pressed against the plastic while the nylon inserts prevent the nut to tighten further while turning the screws. I hope you understand the process of Mounting the IR Sensor, ist not very hard, but not as easy to describe.
