Connecting cube
Description
The inspiration! I designed this simple building cube because my daughters play a lot of mine craft. They have built some amazing things on the game but I wanted them to physically hold something in the real world that can be built similar to mine craft construction. I looked for something on Thingiverse first but was surprised that I didn't find what I was looking for. The design! I made a simple sketch with my daughter. Jumped on Fusion 360. Went to YouTube because I realized I didn't know what I was doing on Fusion, then modeled it. The build! The first version was OK but the edges were really sharp and the connections were way too difficult to connect and detach. The second version has rounder edges and are easier to connect and detach. The cube connections still need a little tweaking but over all they work. Printing! I printed them with supports and a 10 percent infill. Standard quality on Cura. Printed with my Ender 3 with PLA. I would recommend printing two at first to make sure they work. Then fill your print bed with cubes and let them print over night. I haven't tried any other filaments but I would like to try the bendable filaments. The print time is around an hour per cube. Last! This is my first Thing so feel free to remix and make it better. I hope to add more Things in my free time!
