HyperCube Belt Tensioner
Description
This is an addition to the Hypercube design from @Tech2C. It add to the existing belt clamp und allows to tension each belt separately. The block height is 10mm. The additional space requires the M3x10 clamping screws to be replaced with M3x20. For the belt tensioning you'll need 2 more M3x20 screws and 4 hex nuts. 2 for tackling the screws in the block and 2 for countering against loosening. The smaller notch needs to be facing the x-carriage to allow movement of the belt while tensioning. Make sure the screws turn nicely in the caps without gripping of the thread in there. **Printing:** Print the caps upright (like a half standing soda can) to be more stress resistant while tightening the belts. A little sanding and deburring may be needed to move everything smoothly. **Parts needed:** 1x Tension Block 2x Tension Caps 5x M3x20 screws 3x M3 Hex Nuts **Mounting:** Add the block on the x-carriage and the original clamp on top of the block. Start with only one screw in the middle and twist the block and clamp 90°. Pull the belts through the notch at the carriage. Turn the block back and after wrapping the belt turn the clamp. Add the 2 remaining screws, pull the belts and tighten the screw until the belts are secured. After that you can turn the tensioning screws until the desired tension is reached. Happy Tuning! PS: If you have any problems or suggestions with this design, let me know and I'll try to help or improve the files. **Update:** Thanks to your feedback I improved the design in Version 1.1. The cap guiding blocks are now longer to allow more adjustment travel without losing stability. Also the screwholes in the cap are now deeper.
