Veldtland War Elephant
Description
A pretty heavy update on the elephant project, including a redesigning and orienting for resin printing. The body is re-proportioned for heroic scale while still have roughly the same outline, and a bit more dynamic pose. The main gun can now be magnetised, with options for assault gun, cannon, gatling or plasma thrower. The front weapon mount is designed for a magnet in the turret ring, and 1.2mm flat head nails in the actual weapons to avoid mishaps when orienting magnets. The side weapons mount use nails to the back end of weapons and a 3x2 mm glued directly to the gunner. The lascannon comes designed for 3mm acrylic rod for barrel. With a bit of care, you can simply hang the side platforms from the mounting rings on the howdah. The banners are included for marking out Tank Commanders. The helmet for the elephant is separate, so drain holes get covered. I used drain holes in all four bottom feet and the head, and it worked satisfactorily. It was suggested to me that the model should be mounted on a rectangular base the size of the Battle Tank it is meant as a stand in for. I agree, it will make practical use easier. There is a lot of credit given through the inclusion of two of my other designs. Great thanks to a generous and creative community out there.
