Stepper mounted extruder cable harness strain relief
Description
I Designed This For Use With Marty Rice'S Awesome Direct Drive Extruder Which I Have Installed On My 2Nd P3Steel, But It Can Probably Be Used For Many Other Extruder Setups. Simple Fact Is, There Is A Thick Bunch Of Electrical Wires That Come Out Of The Extruder, Go Around The Top Of The Printer And Then Down To The Ramps Electronics At The Back Of The Printer. All This Moves Repeatedly Left And Right Together With The X-Carriage And Common Sense Dictates That A Strain Relief Is Required To Avoid Wiring Fatigue (Breakages, Short-Circuits) And The Usual Disastrous Consequences. And It Makes Things Look A Little Less Messy! I Have Designed This Strain Relief So That It Is Very Easy To Install Even After Everything Is In Place. It Requires One Long And Two Short Nylon Ties, The Long One Goes Through The Strain Relief Part Itself And Around The Stepper And The Two Shorter Ones Are Tightened Around The Cable Harness. Update 26/01/2015: I Have Uploaded Version 2 Of This Part. It Differs From The Original By Having A Longer Arm That Bends Outwards Providing An Extra Clearance To Avoid Interfering With The X-Axis Idler End Assembly When The X-Carriage Reaches The Edge Of The Heated Bed. The Code Is Also More Modular. Openscad Sources Are Included So Both Designs Can Be Further Remixed.
