BigTreeTech TFT70 Swivel Mount (2020, 2040, 4040 or 3030 Extrusion)

BigTreeTech TFT70 Swivel Mount (2020, 2040, 4040 or 3030 Extrusion)

Description

BIGTREETECH TFT70 Mount with swivel and angle adjust. Currently mounts to an 2020 or larger extrusion. Really really sturdy and ideal for Cube style printers, Core XY machines etc, where there are side extrusions or other mounting locations. Edits: 201007 - Added a 3030 Extrusion Spaced Rear mount. 200805 - Added an easy print arm (TFT70 - Arm Upper Easy Print) for those that hate using supports. Prints very easily without supports. 200728 - Updated extrusion mount bolt pitch to 20mm to mount to 2020, 2040, 4040 or larger. Added a horizontal adapter as many people are mounting this to the base of cartesian printers. Updated the tilt mount for the arm to include a keyway for the adapter to maintain location. BOM: Printed parts: -Front Fascia (Front Panel) -Rear Mounting Plate (Rear Panel) -Angle Adjust Mount (Rear Mount) -Swivel Adjust Mount (Tilt Mount) -Lightweight Swivel Arm (Arm Upper) -Extrusion Mount (Tilt Mount 2020. 2040 or 4040 or larger) -Horizontal Adapter (to mount to a horizontal 2020) Fasteners: 4x M3x18mm (Rear Panel to Front Panel, TFT70) 2xM4x12mm (or 10) (Extrusion Mount to Printer Frame) 2x M4x15mm (or 20) with (Angle Adjust to Rear Panel) 3x M5x50mm (Acting as the Axles for the Angle Adjsut, Swivel and Extrusion Mount locations) 4x M4 T Nuts (Angle Adjust Slots and Extrusion Mount) 3x M5 Nuts 1x Additional M4 Screw and Nut if using the horiztonal mount adapter The front fascia prints without any support, directly on the bed. No fasteners are required for this. The front mount has a cut out the rotary encoder, reset switch and the TFT 70. It also has a lip around the edge that mates against the rear panel, and bosses for the TFT to mount. The Rear Mounting Plate prints without supports, directly on the bed. This panel has strengthening ribs, cutouts for the connectors, 4 TFT 70 mounting locations and a set of mounting locations for the rear angle adjust mount. The 4 mounting bosses print without support, bridging the hole. Passing a screw through will knock out the sacrificial bridging. The Angle Adjust Mount locations are 3 layers thick, and can be punched out or removed by passing a 4mm drill bit through. This keeps the rear of the plate clean and allows you to select a mounting location based on preference and side (Left v Right for example). Fasten the Rear plate through the TFT70 into the front fascia, using the plastic holes to create threads with 4x M3 screws. The Rear Angle Adjust Mount prints without any support, and the 2 rectangular slots will bridge fine. The slots hold 2x M4 T Nuts, and fastens to the rear of the Rear Plate with 2x M4 Button head screws. Note, this must be done before mounting the TFT and Front Fascia to the rear panel. The Swivel mount prints without any support, with the bottom of the mount flat on the bed. This part is directional, and mounts first to the Arm upper, then onto the Angle Adjust Mount. Both mount with M5 bolts and M5 recessed nuts. There are two arms. The truss Arm Upper needs supports due the curvature. It's best to print the beam with the 'webs' flat on the bed, and use some support for the upper web. I have also made a simplistic Easy Print arm that prints without supports. The Extrusion mount is last, and prints without any supports. This uses 2x M4 screws and 2x T nuts to mount to an extrusion. To mount this to the Swivel Arm, you need another M5 bolt and nut. If you wish to secure this to a horizontal 2020 or 2040, there is a small adapter that will allow you to secure 1 to the side and 2 to the top of the extrusion for stability. Adjust the tension in the M5 screws to increase or decrease friction in the moving components. Use appropriate washers and even grease where necessary, or if necessary to ensure the nuts dont unscrew. Nylocs help here, too.
