Ender 3 Adjustable Foot - No disassembly!
Description
COMPATIBILITY: Ender 3/Pro and any other printer that needs a set of adjustable feet to mount onto 4040 extrusion (or 4020 mounting long-ways) QUICKSTART: Parts needed- 4 feet base of one style (35mm OR 50mm) - 20-45% infill, 3 layers 4 feet - - 30-45% infill, 3 layers 8 M4x12mm Screws 8 M4 Nuts, preferably something that will lock in the extrusion without disassembly, but if you don't have that you can use thing:1061769 4 rubber pads or other dampening pads (OPTIONAL BUT RECOMMENDED) INSTRUCTIONS: Print off 4 of the base of your choice, and 4 feet. You will next need 8 captive m4 nuts or a similar solution to mount to the extrusion, I like and use thing:1061769 but nuts that are removable without disassembly are recommended. Remove the original stock pads that came on your printer that should only be lightly glued on and attach the new bases. Screw the M4 bolts into the captive m4 nuts. Finally, attach your damper pads to your feet and screw them into the bases. Make sure the frame is level and enjoy. ABOUT THIS MODEL: I was seeking adjustable feet for my Ender Pro and discovered two models that I could not decide between, so I remixed my favorite parts of them both and made them the correct size for my needs, I hope they work as well for me as they do for you. Things that inspired this: thing:3898597 Maker BGDog created these feet that have my overall favorite mounting method, but I did not want to wait for delivery for the metal feet. His method of mounting to the extrusion is my favorite I've come across so far, as it does not require removing the end caps or disassembly of the printer as long as you use captive m4 nuts that can be removed straight from the slot. thing:3109537 FedorSosnin created one of the first sets of feet that I can find for our Ender printers, and created my favorite printed screw/foot system I've come across yet, so once I found a mount that I preferred I knew exactly where I wanted to remix the feet/thread from. Thank you to both of you for your contributions. Other Design modifications: I have hollowed out a small area of both sets of feet bases to save filament, and added ridges on the sides of the opening for the feet to match the screw holes to make it look even. I have printed and tested the 35mm version with absolutely no issue. I modified a 50mm version as well, but have not printed it to save plastic and power as the only difference is the middle section. Please contact me if it works well for you or needs any tweaks. Let me know if you have any questions or comments, I'd love to see your make if you print this as well!
