TheSmartFarmCo bottleponics sucker bottle mount - hydroponics bottle mount/hanger
Description
Another new addition to our bottleponics range... This project came about from the number of people (friends & family) growing their own food in lockdown during the covid-19 outbreak. We thought we would do something to help people recycle their household waste into useful hydroponic planters. Please share and distribute this as far and wide as possible ! You can stick this mount to any smooth surface (such as a window) to hold your hydroponics planters or water tanks made from 100mm (4") 2 litre recycled bottles up. These should hold your bottles safely but I accept no responsibility for wet carpet ! I tested these with a 2 litre bottle filled with water and it did hold for a reasonable time. Although I wouldn't advise consistently leaving them holding 2kg. We used 30mm suckers courtesy of Amazon to attach to these, I haven't tested fitment of other sizes of suckers but will do this further down the line if I can get my hands on some This is a very simple design and has been created to print easily without waste material and although simple allow a large range of versatility in what you can create with/from the bottle. You can drill holes in the bottle and pop in some hydroponic planters, you can take a slice out of the top, put some gravel inside and sit your regular plant pots on or you could even adapt it to be a water tank and fit it with a water pump to become the heart of your new hydroponics system. These are based on a plastic 2 litre bottle with a diameter of approximately 100mm (about 4") We hope to have a lot more parts coming shortly, If you wish to be updated and are interested in what we are doing please give us a follow on twitter @TheSmartFarmCo https://twitter.com/TheSmartFarmCo It is always nice to see photos of our projects being used and adapted by the maker community so please post makes and reviews and share with your friends and family ! We actively encourage distribution and selling of our bottleponics items to make them readily available to people without 3D printers and will be developing some instructions, BOM's and kits in the coming weeks which will be available from our website: http://www.thesmartfarmco.com along with a set of guidance notes.
