Ender 3 X Gantry Plate Jig
Description
Jig to drill an extra 3mm mounting hole in the factory aluminium X Gantry plate. *Why?* When using a printed adaptor plate I made to mount a custom hotend and fan system I found that relying on only the 2 existing 3mm mounting screws was not optimal. Most mounting systems try and get around this by either hooking around the plate somehow or attaching to the wheel mounts. So I decided to add an extra 3mm hole which mirrors the one on the lower left. This seemed like the most logical place. Here is a jig I made to help get the hole positioned accurately. The holes are all printed slightly undersized to allow for them to be expanded with a drill bit. The template was spot on for the two plates I tried but check everything lines up on yours because the holes may vary between printer batches.
