Recycled PLA Fridge Magnet

Recycled PLA fridge magnet Everyone involved in 3D printing knows how much waste is produced in the process. The community has been involved in working on solutions to use failed prints, a few of which are linked below [1][2][3]. This is another option that limits the need for too much expensive extra equipment. Extra equipment - A panini press used specifically for melting PLA. They can often be bought second hand from thrift stores at cheap prices. I would recomend devoting this to plastic recycling and to not use it with food preparation - A 0.5" x 4" magentic strips that can be bought from the dollar store or here: https://www.amazon.ca/Magnum-Magnetics-Adhesive-Magnetic-25-Feet/dp/B00114LU8K - Some parchment paper for baking - super glue Instructions 1) Print the magnet base 2) Collect scraps from failed 3d prints 3) Line the panini press with parchment paper and place some scraps inside 4) Heat until soft and tacky 5) Press the prons of the magnet base into the heated PLA scraps 6) Cut an appropriate length of magnetic. Use superglue to fasten it This hasn't been tested with other types of plastics but a similar principle should apply
