Molds for coral frag bases
Description
A collection of 3D printed molds to build concrete bases for coral frag plugs. These plugs offer a wide range of possibilities when it comes to glueing corals. There are two different formats in this thing, a frag pilar and a zoa base. The zoa base is low and round, a great option to glue zoas while keeping a natural look. It also help prevents fast growing zoas from taking over the others, as they can be isolated on a plug. The frag pilars are great for SPS on regular frag plugs. They offer a surface for SPS to grow their base, can easily be removed and re-glued, for fragging and precise positioning. In addition, they are easy to move around with an cheap Aquaone grabber tool, so you don't have to put your hands in the tank. This is the result failed experiments with 3D printed frag plugs and connectors made out of plastic. Once the coral encrusts to plastic, it is very difficult to cut and move it. Concrete is a much better fit for purpose, as it provides extra weight, it can easily be glued to rocks using only superglue gel and it can be cut with a bone cutter.
Files:
* Zoa base mold: Round and short base, ideal for zoas.
