FLSUN QQ-S/Q5 Feet (for better rigidity and air circulations)
Description
These legs mainly improve the following: 1. increase the rigidity so as to remove most of (if not all) the ghosting from wobbling (as shown in the picture; should work for both the QQ series, including QQ/QQ-S/QQ-S Pro/etc., and the Q5; a scaling down at 77% is needed for the Q5); 2. increase the cooling efficiency (for the QQ's) by improving the air circulations with better confined airflow and an extra clearance of 10 mm above the ground. The temperatures of most parts inside the chassis are lowered by at least 10%. I'm a big fan of Mazinger Z, which inspired me to come up with this idea (well use your imagination). The ghosting effect before installing the feet was already mild because I previously installed the rod stabiliser: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4506309 Now with the feet here, the ghosting is completely gone (very happy!). The stock rubber feet are the main cause of the ghosting from wobbling. The test here is based on a square-shaped vase printed in the 'vase mode' (see picture). While the low-frequency wobbling/resonance (that creates the ghosting) is removed by the better rigidity here, the high-frequency noise from the vibration of motor spins may propagate down to the holding surface (your table or the ground) or even be amplified if the surface is easy to vibrate (such as wood surfaces; concrete would be fine, so you could consider putting a layer of concrete between the feet and the holding surface to absorb the high-frequency noise). Notes for installation: 1. For better air circulations for the QQ, it's recommended that you seal the gap and some holes at the 'fan side' with cellotape (as indicated in one of the pictures) to better confine the airflow path. I actually used heat tape (and therefore the orange-ish colour) but normal cellotape should be fine too. With this done, you could feel stronger and warmer air coming out from other holes. 2. It's also recommended that you remove the bottom cover for the QQ (see picture) in order to achieve better cooling efficiency. 3. No extra screws are needed. It goes with the existing 6 screws from stock for the QQ; as for Q5, you could always insert the feet beneath the bottom plate or find your own way of attaching them, but remember to scale it down at 77% when printing (for fitting the Q5). 4. I noticed that most earlier designs for the QQ feet do not fit my QQ-S Pro. It's either that the earlier designs (and their remixes) are never accurate or that the FLSUN changed the dimensions. Therefore I put in some generous tolerance in my design for the positions of both the screw holes and the stock rubber feet. Hope this helps improve your print quality too! :) [Update 17 Aug. 2020] Version 5 was uploaded for better fit to a wider range of the QQ series and Q5. FLSUN modified their design for the bottom cover (of the same model) from time to time. For the owners of the QQ series this version 5 would make lives easier if you'd like to keep the cover on (for whatever reasons), although I do recommend to remove it. For the Q5 owners, this version should also work better with the existing feet.
