Vintage lens Re-housing - Jupiter 3 50mm F1.5 (M39 mount) For digital mirrorless cameras
Description
This custom lens housing is optimized for "Jupiter-3 50mm f1.5 (VALDAI -Valdaijsky zavod Jupiter)" Applicability to the jupiter 3 lens manufactured by KMZ and ZOMZ (Zagorsky Optiko-Mechanichesky Zavod) and the recently manufactured reprint lens Jupiter-3+ by Lomo has not been tested. (It may be applicable because it looks almost the same) "The Jupiter 3 is an 50 mm f/1.5 lens made in the Soviet Union. It is based on the design of the Sonnar." Jupiter-3 lens is one of the representative lenses of Soviet optical technology made from the mid 1950s to the mid 80s. Since it is a lens for RF film cameras, it is a manual lens with a very small and compact appearance. I like vintage manual lenses, but I've always been dissatisfied with the small appearance and the difficult-to-operate focusing and aperture rings. I tried custom re-housing to improve this. Since the aperture ring is very small, it is necessary to disassemble a part of the lens in order to stably fix the housing. Re-housing is composed of a front part, an aperture ring part, a focus ring part, and a rear part, respectively, but the rear part has no special function and can be omitted because it is only used to decorate the appearance. Grub screws (M4 x 4mm) and a 40.5-49mm filter (for fixing the front part) are required to fix the housing. And 49-62mm step-up ring and M39-L/M conversion adapter can be selected according to individual needs.
