Electric kick scooter Hoover board conversion V2

Electric kick scooter Hoover board conversion V2

Description

This is a conversion of an old Yedoo Wzoom kick bike and an old hoverboard (with bigger inflatable wheels) in to an e scooter. Just sharing it if someone has an old bike and wants to convert it. First version is here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3039005 The hover board battery needed a case and I made one in the frame and the controller in a box this time. Good range with a 6 year old driving it. The acceleration is way better than my Xiaomi m365 but the top speed is 20Km/h. It climbs all hills you throw at it with a small driver. With the big inflatable tires ruff roads are no mach. Its really comfy even on dirt roads. Parts from the hoover board are motor, battery, charger and motor mount. Then a new controller was bought from DIYEBIKE with regenerative braking, abrake handle with inbuilt switch and a throttle. This makes one brake handle that brakes both front and back. Works Really good. The battery box and the controller box are mounted with zip-ties against the frame. The battery box is sliding in between the two front tubes and locked onto the single tube. The motor is mounted with the removed mounts and a steel plate against an 40x40 Item rod. The item rod is screwed with an angle in the frame (original hole) to take the twisting loads from the side mounted motor. Then the rod is just strapped against the frame that supports the item rod. A steel strap is added to handle more loads. When assemble the battery needs some protective foam in the box to prevent it from shaking a part in there. Printed in PetG, 4 perimeters, 60% infill, Covers are glued on to the boxes. See pictures for details. Happy riding and use a helmet.
