Transparent front mask
Description
Working with Chris Lynch, an architect and longtime supporter of the libraries, Onondaga County public librarians identified desirable elements from existing transparent-front masks and created a new design to improve their functionality. Communicating through email and images to convey measurements, specs of the mask were raised for comfortable wear. The SUNY Upstate Health Sciences Library contributed supplies like vinyl and 3-D printing plastic, while OCPL dedicated equipment & staff time necessary to manufacture the masks. The masks have been requested by Aurora of Central New York and by health care and library professionals that support these communities. Please let us know how this design makes a difference in your community, or if you have ideas on making the design better! -- Disclosure: Please be aware that this is an open source design that has not been tested in medical settings.
