Yamaha Tracer 900GT Front Fork Hand Adjustment Tool

Yamaha Tracer 900GT Front Fork Hand Adjustment Tool

Description

I designed a small hand tool that is light, compact, and easily carried on the motorcycle or in a pocket that lets you make preload, compression and rebound changes on a Yamaha Tracer 900GT fork. (This may work on other forks, I sized the hex and the screw slot on the top for the stock forks on the 900GT) The bottom has a hex that fits the top of the preload adjuster and with a little strength you can adjust the preload on the forks. The other benefit is this wont mark up the adjusters like using a wrench or a pliers would. On the top is a slot to adjust the compression/rebound screws on the center of the shocks. There is markings on the side that faces you to show which way is harder and which way is softer as well. I will be listing this as something I plan to print @ JK3d.us down the road when I get the website up (aiming for early Q4 2020). But I figure I will post it now for those who have a 3D printer to get it a try. Update - I added a second version with a 4mm hole for a lanyard by request. Print Settings: I printed the prototype in PLA and it worked fine, the final one I will carry is going to be in Glass Reinforced Nylon. PETG would probably work fine. PLA gets soft in hot sun, so I wouldn't recommend that. I printed at .2 layer height to keep it looking good as there are a lot of curves and it prints well with a .4mm nozzle. I used 3 walls, and 3 layers top and bottom with 15% infill (Simplify3D rectilinear) and it seemed to work fine.
