RedSea Max130C In-Hood Blackbox LED Mount

RedSea Max130C In-Hood Blackbox LED Mount

Description

I designed these parts to convert the lights on my RedSea Max 130 to LED using the parts from a cheap blackbox LED. Note I've done this with a couple of different Blackbox lights and they both used a very similar-sized LED boards. You'll need to remove the existing T5 lights, holder, heat shield, and power supply. Both boards I used had to be trimmed slightly with a power shear on the long forward edge in order to fit in the narrow channel that housed the original T5s. The mounts are designed to screw into the stock heatshield standoffs and then the LED board screwed to the mount. Since the LED mounted this way (in the hood)is close to the water surface (compared to hanging it above the tank) I chose to remove the LED optics. Once the board was mounted there was space at either end for the dual Blackbox power supplies which I simply hot glued to the underside of the hood. The fan mounts can also be hot glued to the underside of the hood and the fans then screwed to the mounts.
