Mock Scope with working reticle or hologram

Mock Scope with working reticle or hologram

Description

****PLEASE DO NOT USE A LASER POINTER IN THIS. LOOKING AT THE ANGLES, IT WILL BOUNCE THE LASER DIRECTLY BACK TO YOUR EYE *UPDATE 09/23/2020 added a better hologram body, its the one with 12mm in the name....the old version I think was too small. The new one has been printed without supports and tested and it works. Also added some pics to explain construction. Still trying to figure out how to attach the inner lens without superglue mess. I used finger lights that you can find in Walmart, or even cheaper online in bulk. I paid 10 dollars for about 50 so around 20 cents a piece. You can also use a small keychain LED flashlight, or whatever kind of light u can fit in the compartment. I used a cut square of cd for my mirror lens which goes on the angled part of the body. I used dollar store sunglasses lens for the front lens, and split DVD plastic for the rear lens and the reflective lens. The finger light points at the mirror lens which is angled 45 degrees and reflects the light through a small hole up on to another 45 degree lens. The templates to trace the lenses and hologram lens are included. Holo Body is for the hologram, and Holo dot body is for the dot reticle. The lights can be swapped out for different color lights. Thingiverse would only allow half of my pics because the others were too big, but i think its pretty self explanatory. everything can be printed without supports, except the holo body (hologram body) if you want to use the hologram one you have to use supports for that part. Enjoy. It seems mine could have used a 1 or 2 % upscale, because its a little tight on the rail, but it still works.....The red dot or hologram will only be seen by the shooter, the person in front should not be able to see the dot (unless the light is too bright, and then it can be diffused a little with a piece of white or colored printer paper on the hole. I did not add a cover because im still working on simplifying the design. As of now it has its own riser, but looking at it in person, I think I can trim a lot off the bottom, and make it so that it can be used with or without a riser. * the base file has a small lip and i think it needs to be flipped 180 upside down to print without the supports, I forgot to change the orientation. Only the base.... *added the file for shorter base ****Cool idea- i bet if you use a UV led and paint the rim of the inner lens holder white first and then with a neon or glow in the dark or black light reactive paint (of course after painting everything matte black), that when you turn on the reticle, that the circle around it will glow in florescent.....Im gonna try when I finish refining the design. *Reuploaded files with proper orientation and also ran through the fixer. Only the Holo body will need supports, Holo dot body does not....
