Soda Bottle Brine Shrimp Air Bubbler - Hatchery
Description
This is a 3D printed Brine Shrimp Bottle Air Bubbler. Screw on to a plastic soda bottle with a standard-sized opening. I designed it to be primarily used to attach an air hose from an air pump to provide bubbles in a soda bottle for hatching Baby Brine Shrimp. The design includes the flanged fitting that fits inside a standard air hose. I highly recommend using this design in conjunction with the 1L bottle holder (Brine Shrimp): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2907229 I use a 'T' piece that splits the receptacle of the bottle. After the split, I use 2 x in-line taps that allow me to regulate both the input flow of air bubbles and the output flow of water. Lastly, I use a one-way valve to ensure that the water does not flow into the pump in the instance of a power outage. (See video and images attached) I have incorporated an additional tube to the cap, which extends into the bottle. This tube allows the eggs to settle on the bottom during draining. This ensures that only the hatchlings are drained. I recommend using a plastic bottle with a conical shaped opening. This allows the shrimp to be tumbled around more effectively when the air bubbles are on and also to be directed towards the opening when draining. Lastly, I used 2 x layers of paper, cut to the size of the cap, to create a seal when tightened to a bottle. (see image) Version 2. Made the tube longer to ensure eggs would not be sucked in during harvest.
